ON THE LIST MIAMI

Miami's Nightlife Scene Just Had Its Moment and We Clocked Every Move

Two bars just made a continent-wide Top 50. Three new spots opened in the last two weeks. Here's everything that went down.

April was a good month to be drinking in this city. Between major accolades landing on two of Miami's most beloved bars and a wave of new openings across Wynwood, Brickell, and Downtown, the scene moved fast. Here's your full rundown.

Café La Trova and ViceVersa Just Made North America's 50 Best Bars List

When North America's 50 Best Bars dropped their 2026 rankings at a ceremony in Vancouver, Miami showed up twice. Café La Trova in Little Havana held its spot at No. 42, a testament to what founder Julio Cabrera and chef Michelle Bernstein built on Calle Ocho. And ViceVersa, tucked into The Elser Hotel Downtown, debuted on the Top 50 as a brand new entry at No. 46.

La Trova peaked at No. 6 back in 2022. The slide to 42 is real, but Cabrera literally just got inducted into the Bartender Hall of Fame so don't count him out. ViceVersa is the actual story here. Italian aperitivo culture in a Miami hotel lobby sounds like it shouldn't work, and yet the room is always full. Half the crowd came specifically for the amaro list. The other half had no idea what amaro was when they sat down and now they won't stop talking about it. Either way, the bar wins.

Bar Kaiju, the neon-drenched monster-movie-themed den hidden inside the Citadel in Little River, landed at No. 70 on the extended Top 100 list. Cocktails named after kaiju characters, a MechaGodzilla drink made with Japanese whisky and cherry blossom vermouth. Go before it becomes a thing.

On & On Opens Above Shiso in Wynwood and It's Not What You Expect

Wynwood has no shortage of rooftop bars. Most of them are fine. On & On, which just opened above chef Raheem Sealey's Shiso Asian Smokehouse, is something different. The concept is live artists reimagining classic hip-hop through soul, jazz, and R&B. Two sets a night. A racetrack bar. Semi-private cabanas. A retractable roof for when the sky cooperates.

Sealey is the chef who put Kyu on the map before launching Drinking Pig BBQ in Coconut Grove. Shiso opened downstairs in 2025 and does oxtail udon, smoked short rib, uni rice. The move is dinner downstairs, drinks upstairs, and let the night figure itself out from there.

The test is whether Miami's notoriously distracted nightlife crowd will sit still long enough to actually listen to live music instead of performing for the room. The cabanas suggest the answer is yes. Give people somewhere comfortable to settle in and they'll stay all night. We'll be watching those cabanas closely.

Séptimo Opens at the Four Seasons Brickell and the Power Crowd Is Already Circling

Séptimo just opened at the Four Seasons Miami above Brickell, bringing elevated mixology and skyline cocktails to a neighborhood that already thinks very highly of itself. This is exactly the kind of place where a Heat player shows up after a game and someone clocks it on their Stories before he's even sat down.

On The List Intel

Four Seasons hotel bars in Miami have a history of being beautiful, expensive, and slightly soulless. Séptimo has a real shot at breaking that pattern if the cocktail program is as serious as the room looks. We'll be there soon and we'll report back with full intelligence, including who we spotted and what they were drinking.

400 Vinyl Room Is the Antidote to Every Club You've Been To This Year

400 Vinyl Room, a 50-seat listening lounge with vinyl DJs and cocktails, opened April 25 in Downtown Miami. Fifty seats. Vinyl. No bottle service theater. Just drinks and records. In a city where the loudest room usually wins, this is a radical act.

Small rooms create big moments. This is the spot you bring someone you're actually trying to impress rather than the spot you go to be seen. The people who know about it will keep it quiet as long as possible, which means you have maybe six weeks before it's overrun and someone does a reel there. Go now.

The night is long and we take notes. Send tips, sightings, and anything your friend swore you to secrecy about. hello@getzona.app
